Not at all bob, we are just having fun right. Thats what veto league is all about. I actually enjoy a message board that everyone that plays can chat about our ball playing.

OK, here's the thing with Josh Paul. He is a solid player and one of the most underrated defensive players in the VLB, but if I put him on the list the people would be asking why someone like Fyfe or Francque wasn't on the list. I had to draw the line somewhere and I tried to just put the guys who are consistently top picks and performers. Oh yeah, and Bobbo.......... 2B-E8

Best VLB'er Ever... This one was tough... After looking at it from many angles, I decided it would have to be the league's namesake, Matt Veto. Not only is he a hell of a ballplayer, but I appreciate everything else he does to earn himself "VLB Merits." He's always the one hauling all of the bats, balls, and bases around. He's a major contributor to the website and is responsible for our claim to Veterans Field and past night games. He organizes the teams and schedule and hosts any parties/meetings. Veto is usually the guy we look to when there's an argument, scoring question, rule referance, or tough call on the field. He's also got a lot of love for the game, and you can see it when he rally's up his team in the late innings. Bob, you are the best 1Bmen VLB's ever had, a huge offensive presence but also the best at hauling in anything I fling across the diamond. Kiel could be the most solid all-around regular player VLB's ever had yet he has always been impressively modest. Ashley, well it's obviously in the genes because this guy is a beast too. It's too bad we don't get to see him as much as we used to. Lance "Take A Hack" McCafferty was always good for awesome comic relief and a hefty bat. It seemed like that guy could do anything if he put his mind to it. Jon is year-end, year-out production. He's got the the skills, wits, and speed to get the job done. And is it just me or has he become quite the gentleman over the years? Steve Roberts had every tool needed to win my vote except commitment. Somebody bring this guy back. Brett is the best example of someone taking everything that's given to him. He's developed into quite a player and can usually spit out an entertaining comment between each inning. Ryan is the guy I always underrate right before he skips a ball past me down the line. I always look forward to snippits of conversations with him as I catch my breath at first. Then there's me, always got something to say, and pretty good in the clutch if I can say so myself. If there's anybody in the league who will speak his mind, it's me. Kilgard should'a been on the list because he has also been quite a contributor over the years. Well thanks for reading, you guys kick ass. ~Scott Ellefritz (Dodgers564 aim)

I have to vote for The Big Z (Bob), he is just too dominate to pick against. I compare Bob to Mickey Mantle, he may not have the career stats, but the stats from the time he has played are just unbelievable. Plus, also like Mantle, he hits those monsterous shots out of the ballpark.

OK, I'll give you the comparison of the mammoth home runs and great stats for his era, but that is where the similarities end. If one were to make a comparison to Bobbo, I would think something more along the lines of Reggie Jackson or Cecil Fielder or even Jim Rice, but not the Mick.

I heard Bob is Mickey Mantle's nephew.

Ouch...Cecil Fielder? So you're saying that in the history of Major League Baseball, I'm as good in the VLB as Cecil Fielder or Jim Rice were in the MLB? Ouch. You really think I'm a fat homerun or nothing guy don't you?
Kilgard...thanks I can completely see where you're coming from.
Correction Veto, Mickey Mantle was my dad (hence why I look nothing like my brother)

You forget to mention the first guy that I compared you with. That and people tend to forget that Jim Rice and Cecil Fielder were both feared hitters in their eras.
Not to take anything away from you Bobbo, but I don't think anyone in the VLB compares with the greatest players in MLB history.
(Except for the constant comparisons to Willie Mays that I keep getting) ;D

Kiel we're clearly looking at this from different points of view in which I think we're both right. I don't compare to even the worst MLB hitter, because quite frankly if I did I'd be up there. I definately can see a comparison to Willie Mays. I look at Matt Veto as the Pete Rose of the league minus all of the negative stuff, which is a big part of why he is leading the way in votes right now. Heart, fire, heck of a ball player, hustle and it's his league. Actually it is our league, but he has done 99% of the work to make it possible, so Thanks Matt.

I regret to inform you that I bet on Veto League Baseball. I met with interested investors from Las Vegas last season. I made out big wagering a dozen donuts, including filling, on the King Cobras to win the World Series. Many apologies to my fans.
