no, but bob said he thought it went out, i guess it hit near the top of the fence in left center about the 329 sign, so close but im working on that.

Now, he hit the top of the wall, we shall clarify, and he would absolutely be the first to homer from both sides of the plate.
I was trying to think of other lefties that have homered (as soon as we get those career stats situation, I could tell you more) and I think Jeff Darras is the only one.

I still have the distinct memory of someone hitting hit out to right at Saukie with a wood bat. I would think that person had to have been a lefty.

I was all excited...Sean Gallagher is a fat bald guy like me and then I saw the picture. He has slightly chunking cheeks and a red goatee. Other than that there is nothing remotely similar. But thanks for the thought. Also thanks for making my height six three or six four on my jock strap story. I'm not quite six two. Barton is going to hit a homerun left handed, it is only a matter of time. Hopefully his batting average and doubles decline in the meantime while he tries to hit that left handed homerun....

I've got cumulative career stats updated through the 06 season and Darras shows 3 career homeruns. However, not sure how many of those were inside-the-park compared to over-the-fence. I thought Vinny Polito was a also a lefty, and he shows 3 homers, but I'm not sure how a small speedy little Italian kid could muscle three over the fence. If Benny the Jet can't do it, Vinny Polito can't. Off topic, I have a distinct memory of Vinny Polito wearing surgeon's garb at a baseball game. Did this really happen, or was it kind of an odd, scary, weird dream? I do have a fettish for surgeons.
Here are some names that I don't remember if they were righty/lefty -- Brock Brown (1 hr), Lance Fair (4), John Gunter (2), Casey Hamilton (1), Josh Lamb (1), Nate Linn (3), Ryan Rasche (2), & Scott Shattuck (1). Meanwhile, Bob has the most documented Veto League jacks with 57. Congrats Bob, you're the most roided up Veto League player of all time. Keep juicing.

Vinnie hit his homer right handed and, yes, once showed up to a game wearing scrubs. I have the photos. The rest of the names you mention are all right handed.
I know I've noted inside the park variety homers in box scores and notes, but I'm pretty sure Darras hit one over the fence at the black hawks diamond.

Ok, I figured that I've spotted you guys enough to keep the race interesting for the rest of the season. Now it's my turn!

I figured I let all the captains know that I plan on hitting left handed more. I figure I can hit one out before Barton can (especially since I did it Saturday). When the game is on the line or there is an important at bat I'll probably be walked, but I'll switch to the right side. Just thought I'd let you all know so you don't waste a high pick on me.

For those of you who missed it, the game on Sunday was highlighted by the game of oneupmanship played by Bob and myself. In one of the most prolific performances by two players in VLB history, Bob and I matched each other blow for blow until the eighth inning when I got the upper hand. Up until that point in the game, Bob and I each had 2 doubles, 1 home run, and 4 RBI. In the eighth, Bob doubled. I followed him up with a towering shot to left for my second home run in the game. Then in the ninth, Veto decided to pitch to Bob (yet another double) and intentionally walk me ending the day for both of us. Final Lines; Bob 5-7 4 2B's 1 hr 5 RBI Kiel 4-6 2 2B's 2 hr 6 RBI 1 IBB Ironically, this performance came for the losing team.

3 weeks ago I thought Barton was going to run away with the MVP, but with him missing the last four games, it's a real tight race. It's a 4 person barn burner down the stretch. My vote might come down to whoever has the most SF + IBB.

That was a pretty solid performance from both of you, I must say. When Bob doubled, first base was open, so it would be silly to pitch to Kiel. We need to go measure Ridgewood.
And, can anyone think of a cheap, simple option to assemble a net or something down the line just to keep the balls from rolling into those weeds?
